My husband and I are going on a cruise in about 5 months and I need to know what to carry my things in. Like such as while we are walking around on the ship or going to the pool. A backpack? You know to carry towels, sunscreen, money, room card and stuff. Same thing on the excursions. Is that what most ladies do? I want to do what is most convenient and popular at the same time.

  1. A light, drawstring backpack ,like the ones you could find at a sporting goods store, popluar and very convenient.

  2. To move around the ship the only thing you need is your key that also is your card to charge everything you buy, Most people put them in their pockets or on a special pouch to put id cards.  I brought a nice beach bag, no too big, to have my book, sunscreen and any other thing. You can get towels in various places in the ship and also in your room.  When you are in land excursions they will tell you what to carry.  Since my idea was visiting duty free stores for a while and then visiting the beach, I wore my bathing suit under my shorts and shirt and in my bag I carried a simple dress, to put over my bathing suit, the towel, my wallet which I prepared specially for the trip not taking too much things and sandals. I wore tennis shoes. First we took excursions and then in the beach I just took off the shorts, shirt and tennis and then returned to the ship with my little dress and sandals and if I had the opportunity fresh, clean and dry underwear. Happy Cruising.

  3. You want to pack as light as possible. You won't really need a backpack, but an extra empty bag may be nice, like a tote. If you buy too much stuff that it doesn't fit into your bag on the way home, the ships always sell all sorts of extra bags. When I go into port, I wear my cruise card on a necklace around my neck, or just put it in a pocket. Try to bring shorts and pants with pockets. On shore, I also don't bring money, but, I bring my credit card. Just be sure to tell your credit card company that you will be out of the states for however many days your cruise is. That way, they won't get suspicious. I do see some people with f***y packs too, but the less you carry, the less you have to lug around.
