“He will come for us.” “We will need to try to bargain with him.” “I still say we call the police”, Joelee told her sister.

Is this punctuation right? There are two people talking here.

He will come for us. We will need something to bargain with him is one person and then the other person is talking

Just want to make sure I am correct

  1. “He will come for us,” I said.  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€ÂœWe will need to try to bargain with him.”

“I still say we call the police,” Joelee told her sister.

  2. I think the inclusion of "I said" is incorrect. The fist 2 sentences are said by the same person and do not need attribution because JoeLee is identified in the second quote as well as who she is addressing. But there are too many quote marks. The two sentences are spoken at one time, only one set is required for the whole speech..

“He will come for us. We will need to try to bargain with him.”

“I still say we call the police,” Joelee told her sister.

  3. If the first two quotes are the same person, then there should not be a break in the quotes unless you put in some kind of attributive tag, such as:

"He will come for us," I panted.  "We will need to try to bargain with him."

"I still say we call the police," Joelee told her sister.

Oh, and on your final quote the comma needs to be inside the quote marks, not outside.
