I am about to start training for a 10k run: I need some good, but cheap, running trainers. I'm a guy, 25 yrs old, living in UK. What do people advise? i'm after something lightweight i guess...but i'm not a running expert by a long way! Was hoping to not spend more than £40?? What do you think, please help!

  1. Go for the cheapest Asics. Even though they're about £45 to £50, they're better in the "long run" pardon the pun. Asics are also a lighter shoe than Nike and more comfortable and I'd say Nikes cheapest pair is beyond Asics cheapest anyway.

  2. Get asics- they are the best make. Also, in places like JD have got asics which are in the sale so get down there!

  3. buy asics or nike

  4. Best bet is to go to a specialist running shop and try on a few pairs and get a pair that fits your feet. I wear New Balance and find them very comfortable, another answer says Asics, another Nike... wait long enough and all tha major brands will be lited here. What they cant tell you of course is which model fits YOUR feet, I can however tell you which fit MY feet.

For £40 you will get a good pair. If you want to do a bit of research buy thid months runners world which has a short review of trainers.

Best advise though is to go to a specialist shop, and try on a few pairs and see which are best
