  1. A Ruger SP-101 handgun with a 2 1/2" barrel chambered in .357 magnum caliber.

  2. My vote is for the firearm.  I can't testify to the effectiveness of a taser, but I can assure you that pepper spray is a very ineffective defense that you shouldn't count on.  Even assuming you could deliver the pepper spray effectively to an assailant's face, which is questionable, some people are virtually unaffected by it.  Some are only mildly affected and it just enrages them further.

  3. The odds of you being a victim of a violent crime is relatively slim.  However, there is nothing wrong with being prepared.  Depending on how much you want to spend, I suggest that you look seriously at purchasing a firearm and getting a concealed carry permit if allowed in your state.

Pepper spray and tasers are excellent self defense tools, but have faults that can result in their failing to work properly.

Spray pepper spray into a stiff wind, and you will be the one with red, itching and burning eyes.

Fire a taser into a thick jacket, or have one of the barbs miss and the taser is useless.

Furthermore, a good firearm such as the easily concealable Bersa Thunder .380.  It is the generic Walther PPK, or the James Bond gun, can be purchased for under $300.00.

  4. Buy a gun. If you are new to firearms, try a .38 revolver. Its hard to s***w up with them.

But if you feel more ambitious, then pick my favorite: the M1911A1

  5. Firearms and Tasers are expensive and you must constantly train with both to be effective (which means more money). You may also need a license for the firearm (more money).  And then you may be limited as to WHERE you can take it.  The Taser is a little bulky for all the time carry.

Pepper Spray is cheap, easy to carry and easy to use.

Unless you are dedicated to practicing with the former, I would go with the later.

  6. Unless you want to spend hundreds of dollars on the taser, I'd go for the pepper spray.

  7. I have alway been fond of knives .Nothing gets  a crackheads attntion like trying to hold his guts in with his hands while hes waiting for an Imaginary ambulance to take him to the hospital .I recomend a good 1/3 serated  Gerber combat knife with a lanyard you can tie to your wrist so you cant drop it.

And Remember the best way to a mans heart is through the subclavical bones ,between the shoulder and the neck,Through the top of the left lung into the aeorta.

                                     Have  a nice day
