  1. Skiing and snowboarding is one of the few sports where it is cool to fall!  I wouldn't worry about it yes people will laugh but it's all in good fun.  You see people fall all the time when you go skiing.  h**l I had trouble standing still my first time skiing.  The d**n skis were so slippery!

  2. Take lessons.  And prepare to make an a.ss of yourself.

  3. take a lesson or just hang out with the people who havent done it before, and make sure to stay on the easy slopes. nothing is more annoying than a beginner on the black diamonds...

  4. STAY OFF BLACK DIMONDS

only blue squars and green circles dont look donw on da lifts

and stay on the BUNNY HILL with people who suck more

    it is surpisingly easy

    ull pick it up

AND make sure u know how to get on lifts

just take it easy not to fast AND TURN back and fourth all the way down!!!

stay outa the glades (woods) and mogles(bummby thingss)

and were googles (not neccecary but good idea if it is sunny or shady)

  5. Every skier who has ever lived was a beginner once, even if their first name was Bode and their surname was Miller. Every ski resort has heaps of beginners and they get respect. People admire tryers, not showoffs.

  6. Take a series of lessons, follow the instructions, rent your equipment, and be sure your boots fit correctly. Put only your foot and your sock in the boot. Before you buckle them, kick the heel hard on the floor to move your foot as far back in the boot as possible.Buckle your boots from the toe up, as tight as you can stand. At this point you should be able to stretch your toes and just touch the end of the boot. Loosen the upper buckles and tighten the power strap as tight as you can around your ankle, then buckle the boots over the strap.

Take some candle wax or canning wax and rub it on the ski bases, this will let the skiis slide sideways as well as forward and back.  Stay on the beginner slopes the first day and practice how to turn and stop, how to get in and out of your bindings, and how to get up after you fall.

Enjoy the night life and the dancing, make new friends and keep the old ones.  On the second day take another lesson after you have practiced the first day maneuvers for at least an hour.  Go practice, practice, practice, you will learn fastest with a qualified professional instructor, who has worked with you before.

I have taught skiing for 45 years and have seen many changes. When you want to learn go ski and stay under control.

Enjoy the sport, it's as much a social sport as a snow sport.
