Need some themes for my bedroom. any suggestions?

i'm redoing my room and i could really use some help. i'm painting it a lime green kind of color (only not as bright) and i just got this bed: http://www.pier1.com/TopMenu/Products/tabid/260/Default.aspx?task=viewproduct&id=1457&urlname=lamport-beds

i'm planning on selling my old furniture (i got it when i was 4--i'm 15 now). the furniture is in pretty good shape. the bed in good but two of the polls that come out of the bed are missing. (its not an essential part of the bed, though. its more for just decoration) both my dresser and vanity are in very good shape. i really got some good years out of them. how much do you think i could sell all of them for? the big dresser has five drawers and the vanity has three and a big mirror. i'm planning on using the money i get from that to buy my new dresser and a new vanity if i can offord it. which brings me to my next question. what color dressers would look good with that bed? any idea on where i can find somewhere that sells something that might match my bed? also, what kind of mattress would you suggest? i only have 500 dollars to spend on the mattress so it needs to be sorta cheap yet comfortable. lastly, what kind of decorating should i do? i have an old black and white picture from hollywood up on my wall right now and thats pretty much all the decoration i have. any idea on what i should do?

i think black furniture would look the best with your new bed ... also im looking sell my old stuff and id love a vanity

do you think you could sent me some pictures of your old furniture and maybe i buy it from you ??

i think the memory foam matresses are really comfy but if you want cheap you could just get a cheap one with a feather top and it is SO comfy lol i have one

decorating wise i think black furniture and like a white chair and white sheets and white throw cushions with like black pillow cases and black and white curtains would look coll and then your pic would look fabu!!!

Watch HGTV or diy network, they are always showing great and inexpensive ideas.

I have lime green in my bathroom and have accented it with shaped mirrors and chrome accessories

Hi sweetie, that bed is gorgeous!

As far as furniture, I would go with wood that is painted or stained black, but has a weathered or distressed look... you know, like if it's painted, it would look like somebody lightly hit the edges with sandpaper.

You could do it yourself with the paint and sandpaper, or use this product: http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?...

I don't know what type of furniture you have now - it could take that sort of a treatment. Or you could go to an unfinished furniture store and find something there and finish it yourself.

The black furniture would look great with the bed, plus the lime green color on the walls. And later on if you changed your wall color, the black would look great against so much - khaki, blue, light yellow, etc.

It's interesting that you're doing your walls in that limey color -- one of the big trends at the furniture markets right now (I work for a furniture magazine so I go to a lot of those and gift shows), for bedding and accessories is a sort of muted lime green and muted turquoisey.
