ok on my driving i am lifting my head up a tad bit to soon which is causing some tops on my drives, is there a way to make sure i don't lift my head up to early.

Also it looks like I will be making my high school golf team as a JV member. I need to practice more then. So I need a certain amount of time (e.g. 1 hour) i need to practice putting and how much i should be on the range. Thanks for your help in advance

  1. Good Luck with the high school team. Sometime I lift my head up sooner than I should so try to make yourself watch the back of the ball as you hit the shot, it will work. I play off 2.6 and this is my main focus during a shot. Try to spread the amount of practice on the range and golf course out evenly.

    Have a good one.

  2. If you in fact know what your problem is all you have to do is concentrate on not doing it....there's no magic needed here

  3. Try picking a spot on the ball like a letter or a dimple and focus on that. When you swing, don't look up to see where your shot went but finish your swing and then look.  You will have plenty of time to see the shot.  Another thing is to put your chin on your neck so your head won't move.

The most important thing to practice is shot from 100 yards in because nearly half your shots come from here (chipping, bunker shots, putting, flops, and pitch shots).  I am playing for my JV team as well and if you want to shoot lower scores, you need to develop a solid short game and this is what I mainly practice.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Hit every shot every time seeing the ball being hit by the club head. Especially shots around the green and putting.

Always, always keep your eyes on the back of the ball when you're swinging a golf club.

Just like baseball, golf is a game of hand-eye coordination.

  5. I had this problem too!

Before your shot, make sure your head is behind the ball and concentrate on keeping it there.  Also, try keeping the beginning of your backswing slow and low to the ground.  Good luck!
