  1. Petsmart has them

  2. Take some plastic wrap and rap it around the bottom of the cage about 3 or 4 inches up the bars. This works great for mine... Good Luck!!!

  3. Oh gosh!  I don't think this can be helped.  They will probably eat the plastic you can get at pet stores.  We have to sweep the floors everyday around our birdcages bc they get food all around it.  I think thats just the unspoken deal that comes with the bird when you got him.

  4. Good luck....I have two cockatiels and they are messy birds. I have tried the plastic wraps that are sold at the pet stores and they just chew them up. I even tried putting their food at the bottom of their cage - but, then they end up pooping in their food which is evn worst than the original problem.

I will be reading this one to see what other people can suggest - cause I'd like to know also.

  5. There are several methods.

You could put a white, or light colored folded bedsheet over the cage, covering only the top, and two sides of the cage - one of them on the side with the food.  If you can tuck the edges of sheet under the cage, even better.  Just make sure you're not blocking a good view.  I'd rather have a little mess, than birds who are bored to death in a covered cage.

There are some items on the market made just for your type of problem:

Drs Fosters and Smith carries a variety of seed guards:

  6. you need a cge with the slanted cathers at the bottom, they catch droppings and food and any other waste, they can save you ALOT of cleaning, my blue and gold macaw has them on her cage but my ducorps cockatoo doesnt and its alot cleaner around my macaws cage than my cockatoo's

  7. If purchasing a new cage is an option, you can get one with a large funnel/bowl around the base to catch all the droppings.  Ours works really well for our green-cheeked conure. The only trouble is they take up more space that way - no tucking it in the corner or up against a wall.
