  1. i like the standard water bottles.  having a camelbak on your back doesnt allow the heat to release from you body and feels very heavy.

  2. There are lots of different options. I use a Spinal Tap from:

    www.groundeffect.co.nz

  3. I have a camelback but have never used it(got it as a gift).  I dont like the idea of wearing a backpack in the hot summertime.   I am able to carry enough water on my bike and it my rear rack/bag, and there is always a town or pop machine anywhere I've ridden.

  4. Water bottles on the bike allow you to keep things much cleaner.  Camel backs and the sort are a pain to keep clean especially if you but Gatorade or whatever in them.  I use two polar bottles on my bike, that way I can fill them full of ice and the water stays cold until the next stop.  Also, the camel backs seem to hold the heat next to your back, and the water heats up quickly.  Water bottles by far are the best choice and they are inexpensive.

  5. there are different hydration packs out there. my first was actually a hydrapack. the good ones are still gonna be pricey, if $35 is pricey. or get some cages and carry a couple of bottles on your bike. if you hydrate properly, your bike will get lighter as you ride!
