Need suggestions for places to go for dinner in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday a night?

Hi i'm planning to go out for dinner on Saturday 4th August for my birthday and would love some suggestions on where to go? We're planning to go to the Melbourne CBD and it's for about 10 - 15 people. Any ideas on some nice, but not to pricey restaurants??

Pack a lunch and a blanket and have a picnic in an open field and watch the kangaroos do what ever they do. GOOD LUCK :D

like hot gensler said, definitely try the green spotted orange turtle-frog, but raw and wrapped in kangaroo jerky with some blue whale oil sauce.

Stalactites (or stalagmites...) Greek restaurant in Swanston st.  Really nice food, cool atmosphere and well priced.

How about Outback steakhouse? I'll bet they don't even have them in AUS. lol.

McDonalds has some large tables in the side room there....definitely within your price range.

just go for a walk down lygon st and take your pick... With such a large group you are bound to have one of those guys that stand out the front of the restaurant trying to entice people to eat at his restaurant to give you a good deal, usually you can get them to agree to 10% off the total bill and a few bottles of wine thrown in on the table for good measure.. after all they want your business!! I am still yet to have a bad dining experience at any of the restaurants on lygon st, and they are all reasonably priced $15-30 a main meal dependant on what you get.. and then if you want to walk in the city afterward it'll only take ten minutes.. which will probably be what you guys need after a big meal!!
