Need sum tips on a 1977 dt 250 kill switch?

how do i wire a kill switch to a 1977 yamaha dt 250.does it go to the coil.

On the coil there is 2 wires, one is the thick on that goes to the spark plug, the other is a thin wire that goes to the maneto. To connect a kill switch you connect one wire from the switch to ground and the other wire to the thin wire that goes to the coil. Turning the kill switch on will ground that wire and that will kill the ignition. Doing it that way will NOT hurt your ignition. It's that easy.
