here are some tips:

1) Be loving

2) be stern when there is a need

3) Be patient

4) tell them lots of stories (kids just love them)

5) Play with them like u are one of them

6) teach them lots of songs

7) encourage them to speak

8) Give kids the time to think on their own.

Above all you need to let them know that you love them.

Stay calm n treat da students as if they r like ur children.

Do not talk down to them. If you bring them to your level (ex: using bigger vocabulary and explaining what the words mean), they will perform to a higher standard. Speaking of, make sure you teach to your state's standard but make every lesson as interactive as possible. Keep in mind, these students can only sit still and concentrate for about 5 minutes. Use manipulatives and give concrete examples. Toward the end of the year, reference first grade to get them excited about the following year!

act lke your one of the kids. i babysit for these kids a lot who are in kindergarten. They are much smarter than you thin. if you show that you dont wnat to 'play' they'll no your not trying.  Just use a lot of energy and if you strct and have to give them atime out.. mae sure you eplain what they dd in a clam voice. Dont upset them. you have to be willing to play little kid games that bore the h**l out of you lol.
