Need tips/ideas to help my 14 month old daughter to walk independently and not on her tippy toes?

She always wants to walk but with me holding her hands. I want to think of games or ways to make her feel more confident.

  1. When my boys were learning how to walk they needed to grab onto my hands or something to help balance themselves.

I would hold on to something and have them hold onto it too.  Then I would let go.  They realised they were walking on their own and walked without help within a short time after that.

They sell those little toy baby strollers and lawn mower type push toys that help tots learn to walk.  Now is a perfect time to find gently used ones at garage sales.

There is no need to rush her into walking.  From what you said she is getting brave and will be walking on her own in no time.

  2. She is still so young. Dont worry, she will walk on her own soon. You might want to hold an object away from her and have her walk to you to get it. Many times of doing that should help her.

  3. Don't rush it!

Give her time to be ready to walk. I know a little boy who didn't walk till he was over eighteen months, he's perfectly fine.

Enjoy the time you have still carrying her around, she won't be a baby for much longer!
