Need to buy wireless adapter for XBox 360 to connect to XBox Live in a different room?

Do you have to buy the 100 dollar adapter for the wifi feature? Because my XBox is downstairs and the computer wireless modem is upstairs. How do i connect?

No, you do not have to go through finished work to use wired networking.  You also do not even need to have to run a long ethernet cable.

Buy a used one from Gamestop. If you have a card, you'll get 10% off.

Or get a 50 foot ethernet from Gamestop. Basically, go to Gamestop.

You could go and get the wireless adapter - it just plugs into the back left below your had drive if it is set horizontal, snaps in easily. Or you can run a Ethernet cable from your router to your xbox - try searching cuil.com for more information on the how-to.
