Need to child proff a cabinet doors in kitchen. What are they called and where to buy them

  1. You can also use very strong rubber bands-- you can remove them but the kid can't--

  2. My favorites are from Rev-A-Shelf, they're called Tot-Loks or Rev-A-Loks.  These use a special magnetic 'key' to release the inside latch on the door from the outside (a regular magnet won't work).  I've used these to 'childproof' our liquor cabinet, now that the 'children' are teens...

    You buy the locks and the keys separately;  I recommend buying at least two keys.


  3. You can go to a Wal-Mart and in the baby section; sometimes they are in the hardware section, and buy latches designed to keep babies from opening doors.

  5. ebay is also a verry good spot to find childproofing stuff for a good price. That is what i used to get my cabinet locks and fridge lock from.
