Survey of 60 people to see what brand cola they drink. choices are p(pepsi) c(coke) o(other colas): Results:

4 people drink Pepsi,coke and other colas

9 drink pepsi, and other colas (not excluding Coke)

7 drink coke and other colas

10 drink pepsi and coke

22 drink coke

20 drink other colas

32 drink pepsi

  1. Venn diagrams are normally composed of three overlapping circles.  You would have one for pepsi, one for coke and one for other colas.  

    In the areas where the circles overlap, fill in the groups that have a mixed beverage preference.  

    For example if you placed the pepsi and coke circles as the lower circles, in the area where they overlap, you would fill in the 10 people who drink pepsi and coke.  The same is true for the area where the pepsi and other and coke and other circles overlap.

    In the area where all three circles overlap, you fill in the 4 people who drink Pepsi, coke and other colas.

    I thin you are also over thinking this.  Your options were Pepsi, Coke and Other.  So if someone says they drink Pepsi and other that would exclude Coke as they would have answered Pepsi, Coke and other if they drank Coke.
