  1. Florida's beaches are shallow, and reefs aren't located close to shore (within wading distance).  Your best legal bet is to try the pier located at Haulover... 10800 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida. 305-947-3532 and Newport Fishing Pier 16700 Collins Avenue 305-949-1300.  Best times at the piers are sunrise and nighttime.  Both offer fishing gear rentals, and bait is sold on-site (although at a premium price).  Keep in mind when SALTWATER fishing from shore or a pier a fishing permit is not required.  When FRESHWATER fishing is concerned at permit is required at all times (either from shore or a boat).  Bring a cooler of your favorite beverage, and a good friend and enjoy the great views.

  2. Try Crandon park. Great bonefish there and you can catch them off shore. I also caught a 3 foot hammer head shark there as well. I usually fish off the beach using shrimp and squid. You can also catch some jacks depending on the season. Good Luck
