Need to find author of a very famous quote?

i dont know how it goes i want to find the person who created...i think it might be some one like john locke or thomas jefferson

it talks about a institution(government) and if it doesnt satisfy the people's need it may be replace.

its a very famous quote...i apologize for my inability to remember things

  1. The qoute you are looking for was written by Jefferson it is in the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence .. it begins as" That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends" .... and it goes on to say that the government can be altered or abolished .


  2. I think the quote you're thinking of is part of the Declaration of Independence. Look after the second hyphen:

    We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
