I have to finish 100 hours of community service somewhat soon for a court order, does anyone know a good place to find a lot of hours and don't say library.

  1. Try nearest chapter of American Red Cross, a foodbank see http://www.secondharvest.org to find foodbank nearest you, Salvation Army which uses community svc volunteers in some places.   Check environmentsl groups in your area and see if any clen ups planned.Unlikely you will find all 100 in same place quickly which is why it is good to knock out as many hrs as possible as early as possible.   Depending on your PO a local church may can use you for clean upgrounds work etc.  Some hospitals have use for CS workers as do some animal shelters.  Read the community claendar in your localpaper and see who is doing back to school clothes and supplies programs.  Contact Habitat for Humanity maybe they are building in your area and if so and f you can work outside you can get a good solid 20 hrs in in a weekend which may be one of the fastest places to build hrs.

  2. Why not the library? Are you picky about what community service you do? Maybe if you weren't so picky, you would have finished it long since or even not gotten into trouble in the first place.

Try the Red Cross, Cancer Society, hospices, day care centers, hospitals, homeless shelters, soup kitchens. YMCA, food banks, Salvation Army, etc. Get on the phone or ask for a list from your PO.

  3. Maybe do something to help at-risk youth.  You could be a living example to them, not talking down to them but sharing with them the mistakes you made and talk to them about consequences of bad choices.  Good luck!

  4. How about your local animal shelter?

  5. grab a garbage bag & a sharp pointy stick & take a walk along the highway

  6. Where do you live at. I;m a pastor in Monroe county, PA and get you something going around here.

Or tell me what town and state you live in, I have clergy friends all over the US.

    Good luck
