Need to get DNA test done to see if child is mine?

How can I get a DNA test done if the other parent doesn't want to take the baby? Do I need to go get a lawyer or what? The state is Texas, Please help

I'm assuming you mean that the father doesn't want to take responsibility so he is refusing to get a DNA test.  In that case, you can get a court order from family court.  If that is not what you mean and you just want to get a DNA test with only one parent, you can do that.  My husband had a DNA test without my knowledge on our daughter before we were married.  She is of course his... :)

You will need to get a court order for a paternity test.  You can apply through the courts yourself or get a lawyer to do it or even call up Childsupport and find out if they can help you (just say if the baby is yours you want to support him/her).

Uh, I'm pretty sure if you're the mother, you can get just the swab from your child and you to prove that if you're the mother.

If you're talking trying to get DNA from the dad, and he refuses, you can take him to court to get it done. Get a good lawyer.
