  1. Hi, Ruth

This is what i could find out about prices:

    Cabarete - US$30

    Cabrera - US$110

    Costambar - US$40

    Sosua - US$20-30

    Puerto Plata - US$30

    **Luperon - US$70-80

    Playa Dorada - US$25

    Rio San Juan - US$45

    Good luck!!!

  2. Sorry Happy Feet but I have to say that is a rip off! An hour and a half trip in a cab would not cost more than $1000 pesos THE MOST (34 pesos to a dollar) it will be what??? $29.50 more or less.

A rule that you should follow whenever making any buy or pay for a service in the DR is that it will cost if not less no more than five dollar (always multiply by currency x34pesos) what it cost in the US. I’ll give you an example, one time walking with an American friend of mine they offered him a coconut for $15 pesos (this was back in the days) when it actually was worth $8 pesos.

*Get ready to bargain with anyone that offers something to you

*They will try to charge you twice or 3 times the money is worth counting on your lack of knowledge

*Things and service in the DR is VERY CHEAP (example a cab within the city no more than $300 pesos / $8.82 US)

**Very important when you get to the airport ask the information desk for a name of a reliable cab service or when you go out look for a cab under a registered cab company. Ask the driver for their name and/or unit number (do this also when leaving the hotel). Ask for their main office number to confirm they belong to this place. If possible try to get the same taxi unit every time that is if you liked the guy since that way you know the driver and more importantly follow your instincts. Happy Stay!

  3. Hi !,

From Airport (Gregorio Luperon) "POP" to Luperon Resort in Luperon Bay is about 1h30 min drive. We can do the transfer

for 100 us (one way). Let us know by e-mail your exact name, date of arrival, hour and flight number. Thanks.

    Happy Feet

By the way I don't "rip off" like <yagi> said, this are the official prices at the airport and hotels. Please, next time be cautious with your words (yong) lady. The gas price is around

168 pesos/gallon or dit you forgot this?
