I have the documentation of my training from my military records but it has been years since I have worked on aircraft. Can anyone suggest the best way to go about obtaining my license. Would I have to take a refresher course or could I just study up and take the test? Thanks for the help.

  1. If you can find a FAA official to accept your military experience since by your own admission its been years since you worked on airplanes you could just study the books for the written tests. The oral and practical tests are a different matter, you can buy books that prep you on these tests, but I would recommend a quickie refresher course. These are not that cheap and last about 3 to 4 weeks but they used to guarantee that you would pass the tests
