Would like fares for a trip to Jersey City, leaving from New Brunswick train station, OR East Brunswick bus station. How do I figure it out?

  1. You can check out the NJ Transit web site: www.njtransit.com and then choose Trip Planner.

    --------------------------------------...

There is no such thing as "Jersey City station"

By train for Jersey CITY:  Take any NY bound train to Newark Penn Station.

You didn't say where in Jersey City you want to go, it is a big place.   From Newark take the PATH train to these Jersey City stations:  Journal Square, Grove St or Exchange Place.  If you want Pavonia/Newport in Jersey City, change PATH trains at Journal Square for the PATH 33rd St train.

NJ Transit fare to Newark:  $7.25

    PATH fare                              1.75

There is a Jersey Avenue station which is the next south station past the New Brunswick station (no where near Jersey City).  The service is somewhat limited but the fare is $1.75.
