When I go to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Internet Explorer 7, I click on IE 7 and it doesn't give me the option to Change/Remove! Everywhere I look is telling me to click Change/Remove, but the option isn't available to me! Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions? I really want IE 6 back. Please help, anything at all would be helpful.

  1. Your best bet is to use Windows XP's System Restore to roll back your computer to a time before you upgraded to IE 7.  Go to Start Meno > Help and Support > Undo changes to your computer with system restore > Restore my compute to an earlier time > Pick a time point before the upgrade and click [Next].

  2. Is System Restore an option?  Should be under Start > Programs > Accessories and System Tools.  I'd look for a System Restore point of a day-or-so prior to the upgrade.

  3. Try Firefox its much better: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/?ut...

Also, you cant get programs back with system restore. System restore only restores previous system settings, not programs and files.

  4. It's really hard to find because Microsoft and all those other software nuts assume people are only interested in the new stuff, but what you need to do is reinstall Internet Explorer 6.  Try googling it and see if you can find a safe site to download Internet Explorer 6 from.  Once you install it you will have IE6 instead of IE7.
