Need to know how poinsettias propagate?

Question

I have poinsettias that grow in my backyard. They were there when I bought the house. They die off every winter and come back in the spring. Now I am having a deck built that requires landscaping over part of the area where they grow and would like to insure they will come back next year. Does anyone know how they propagate in their native clime?
