Went surfing a few nights ago, and suddenly found this "Antivirus XP 2008" attached to my computer! I KNOW it's a Trojan and I do have a program on my computer that's supposed to protect my stuff, but it's not doing anything to detect this. How do I get this rotten program off my hard drive? It's totally messing up my computer to the point that I'm about to trash the whole thing, but I have SO MANY files on it, that I can't afford to. I'm at work and able to read here, but I need a definite answer to this that I can do directly at home, as my computer runs super slow now because of this nasty virus.

Anyone with a solution to this problem?

  1. This will clean it. But, if you are unsure with using registry, don't try it'

Also make a backup copy of your registry. Do the following

    Start

    Run

    regedit

    Click file

    Click export

    Check all

Give it a name,,I usually just put a date in it "21 Aug 2008"

Have a folder for it I use "Registry backup"

Here remove everything with antispyware 2008, Not the whole line, just the ends after :solutions'

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\secure solutions\antispyware 2008 xp lgid

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\secure solutions\antispyware 2008 xp lid

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\secure solutions\antispyware 2008 xp pid

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\secure solutions\antispyware 2008 xp\2.1 installtime

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\secure solutions\antispyware 2008 xp\2.1 start counter

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\secure solutions\antispyware 2008 xp\2.1\config

  2. you cannot delete it from control pannel because the virus installed will dont have its program name in the add or remove program list

the better suggestion that what i will give you is you can do online virus scan in

    http://www.bitdefender.com/

it is a fine website and after scanning it will automatically heal the virus and if it cant be healled means it will delete that file

and i am sure this will help you

and the website is a safe one

i had my pc safe now of the similar virus which has affected my system registry information using this

    http://www.bitdefender.com/

and you can also search the search engines for other online scanner but some of the only scan and they dont heal/delete the virus

  3. Oh my God! That virus is so annoying! You should delete, remove and destroy is as soon as possible. I posted a question similar to this one a few weeks ago and the lovely men who answered gave me a great site to go on to get rid of this virus. You need to download a program called MalwareBytes because that searces your entire computer, finds the virus and completely destroys it.

    http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Ant...

Click the green 'download now' button (don't worry - this is free) and once you've downloaded it, got the updates and done a system sweep which takes a long time but it's worth it, you should be fine. It also solves the desktop, wallpaper and screensaver hijack, too. Good luck, doll.

  4. Write on google "remove Antivirus XP 2008" , something will come...

  5. See this http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/malware-...

  6. try going to your control panel and going to add or remove programs and see if you can remove it that way if not you might have to clear your computer.
