Need to know if I can get a train to Rome from gare du nord station. If not what is the correct station?

Try the Gare de Lyon, all the trains going toward the mediterranean area leave from there.

the french railways website is www.sncf.fr (there is an English vrsion, if I remember correctly)

The overnite train from Paris to Rome leaves from the Gare de Bercy (which is  next to the Gare de Lyon)
