2.what is the difference between "information science" and "information technology" in engineering?

3.Is it that "software engineering" and "information science & engineering" the same?

hardware engineering means that the engineer is concerned with designing and testing keyboards, monitors, CPUs, etc.  the stuff you can touch.

Software engineering is the programming.

2) depends on the school or company.

it may mean exactly the same thing.

OR info science may be more involved in developing new capabilities.

3)  similar but not always identical

For instance, information science might include AI, and knowledge engineering

But if i is at one school and one at the other school - they could mean exactly the same thing.

Software Engineering is related with algorithms, programs and process. Is the way the things may be done over some infrastructure.

Hardware is the equipment infrastructure, computers, routers, and so on.

You cannot ride by train if there are not rails installed first, then you can consider how many services and timetables to get to some place, previously railed. You can't go where there are not rails.

That's the same relation between hardware and software, you can only make software if there are some kind of equipment that could run it

Information Science is related with process and business organization, close related with systemics.

Information Technology os related with the equipment, software and techniques that let to process ans storage information

A lot of confusion is out there, even in several books

Software engineering is related in how to resolve processing problems, algorithms, and process (business process and so on). Information science is related in how to process and storage information.

They are only related on process (business process), but the focus on very different objectives. Software in how to build some tool that could do the task. Information in how to preserve and get the information (content) when it is needed and how it is needed
