  1. I was taking Lyrica (pregabalin) for chronic nerve pain and had to come off of it because the side effects were too much for me.  I felt like I could not function properly.  I gained weight very fast, I had peripheral edema (water in the extremeties), I slept very well (too much), and I had problems with my thinking.  I had a very hard time remembering things, recalling things, and just felt that my brain was not up to par.

Common side effects of Lyrica include:

    dizziness

    somnolence (sleepiness)

    peripheral edema

    weight gain

    blurred vision

    abnormal thinking

    dry mouth

    tremor

    headache

    incr. appetite

    amnesia

    confusion

    incoordination

    abnormal vision

    abnormal gait (gait=walking)

I have taken Lyrica for nerve pain. It messed with my ability to do math or even comprehend numbers. Scary.

  3. i also had horrible side affects from Lyrica. bummer, looks like i threw out the leaflet that came w/my prescription for it. but i do recall there was a huge list of all sorts of side affects. i'm sure i had some that weren't even listed. i felt real strange all over, couldn't make decisions, couldn't answer friends questions right away, like i would stumble for the answer. i also felt real sick from it but is hard to say cuz i got a kidney stone around the same time. i've heard quite a few people say they were having strange side affects. try webmd.com they have a place where you can look up every drug you could think of and it will list everything about the drug. hope your dad is feeling better and please let him know he's not alone.
