I am fairly new to this yahoo answers thing and find it very entertaining and all but I have to admit I am completely lost as to the fasination to Mermaids... As I read into a lot of the Q&A's I find that it is taken rather seriously...

Where does this stem from??

Even though most of the time I laugh at Mermaid stuff I actually would like to know what it is I am laughing at...

  1. keep laughing

  2. There's one troll in particular who spams this board with mermaid questions. Claiming to have done a spell, is becoming one, and asks for other "mermaids" to be her friend. She has multiple accounts, and has used those to ask new questions, and answer her own.

Some people just lack hobbies and a social life. Or are extremely bored at work.

  3. some people truly believe that mythical animals are out there. The way i look at it is... you cannot prove that they are not out there.  so who says they aren't?

  4. what you are laughing at is a story of beastuality. Its a story of sailors at sea too long that trap dolphins and have s*x with their blow holes. Some of the sailors thought it would make a race of half human half dolphin hybrid called a mermaid. I have also heard it was sea loins or mantiee's

  5. It comes from the new TV show for kids and young adults, called H2O

The vampire and werewolf thing is mainly from the Twilight Trilogy ( young adult books)

  6. We're guessing that it's mostly due to these kids who are on summer vacation and bored being hooked on this teen TV show called "H2O: Just Add Water", who apparently can't seem to separate fiction/fantasy entertainment from reality.

"The show's premise revolves around three teenage girls facing everyday teen problems with an added twist: they're mermaids with powers over water."

I'd like to know why so many parents aren't doing their jobs these days.
