I have a friend who just called me worried. He turned in evidence against his neighbors to the police today for cooking meth. I've known this guy forever. He said that the police told him that they would try to keep his name out of court but they may have to use it to prosecute the "meth cookers," for lack of a better term. When he called and asked what they would do if they found out in court it was him who got the evidence against them I told him I had no idea. He seems pretty nervous and I understand why.
What do I tell him? I don't want to give him some sort of lie like "oh, they wouldn't get mad you turned them in for meth!" (I mean he'd know that was a lie anyway). I do want him to be aware of what may happen, though, and to be prepared for it.
It is just that I don't know what may help him so I don't know what to tell him.
What should I tell him he needs to be prepared for? I admire his courage in turning them in. He'd been trying to get the police to listen since March and when he got evidence he turned it in.
I just know that he is scared and I feel horrible knowing that he is nervous and I have no idea what to tell him!
