I have a Sony Handycam Model # DCR-HC28. I need to know exactly what type of cord I need to hook it up to my USB port. Everytime I go to the store... the idiot electronics person sends me home with the wrong cord. I've also already tried a USB adapter kit and none of them fit in there. Please help. I need the exact name of the type I will need so I can just get the dummies to point me to where it is. Thanks!

  1. Firewire aka iLink aka IEEE 1394. You actually have to capture the video (i.e. not drag the files onto your hard drive but play the tape and have it transferred in real time onto your computer). If you use Movie Maker or iMovie, all you have to do is plug it in and then capture. Make sure you have lots of free space because 1 tape=13GB or 1 GB per 5 minutes on SP mode. Hope this helps!
