  1. Try these:

    Rainbow Resource Center:

    Christian Book Distributors:

    http://www.cbd.com

    Library & Educational Services:

    http://www.libraryanded.com

And a great site for all types of material, which is free to join:

    The Homeschool Buyers Co-op

There are also great places to buy used materials:

http://www.paperbackswap.com (all items FREE with credits)

  2. Do you have a Barnes and Nobel near you?  I use to look at books online that I liked then call BN to order them.  They actually order the books (free of charge) to their store.  You can go in, see the books, touch them, feel them, and decide to buy or not. There were a couple I decided not to buy, and many I did every year.  They were great because I didn't put out cash until I examined the books themselves.

  3. That depends on what subjects you are looking at:

    - Home Science Tools (online and mail-order)are a good resource for the sciences

    - d**k Blick Art supplies (online and mail) are great for the arts...whether you want basics or advanced

    - for reading/english: find a (or several) college reading lists, focusing on the classics, and work from those...if he finishes those books he'll be ready for almost any college english course

    - Your local bookstore is a good place to look for discount textbooks, so is Amazon.com, or Barnes and Noble

    - and check out your local tech college for courses and book lists

  4. theres another website to use too, that is a really good one, too its wwww.thislittlepiggystayedhome.com

I ordered a good part of my books off of here.

Some of the books I love are by A Bekka, Saxton, Scotts Foreman, McGraw-hill (this comapany is wonderful).

Good luck with all you choose to use.

  5. Rainbow Resource is a great place to buy educational materials.  Their catalog is as big as a phone book, and includes reviews for each product.  They also have discounted prices and offer free shipping for orders over $150.

Here are some other places to find educational programs at great prices:

    Hope this helps!

  6. There is a place on North Main that sells used material and they can order for you.  (Silly answer because I don't know where you live.)

We just get our stuff from used book stores and online.

Many text books have websites with what they consider as extra activities but the information can be used for an education.
