Need to lose 35 lbs! Majorly overweight and really need help please!?

How many calories do I burn in a day and how many calories are in a pound?

I'm 5'5'' and a girl. I know I have to exercise and eat very little but how long should I exercise? And would only running be enough? Thanks for any diet tips/help.

  1. This WILL work. I promise:

    Jog/walk for 30 min a day. Do more jogging than walking until you're almost jogging nonstop. Eat 1300 cal/day of healthy foods and drink lots of water (by healthy I mean rice, veggies, brown breads, grains, oats, nuts, fruits, seeds, lean meats, occasionaly treats etc). If you are REALLY craving something then eat it and adjust the rest of your diet to accomodate. Try not eating too much "diet" foods (like those super light yogurts, super skim milk & splenda foods). Eat things that are natural: NO corn syrup.

    If you follow this you WILL lose about 2 lbs a week steadily and get lean (without losing muscle). I also recommened light weight lifting twice a week for about 30 min as well to keep your muscle and metabolism up. No soda either! Tea is fine though :)

  2. You burn around 2000-2300 a day without excercise. There 3500 calories in a pound.

    So...if u want to lose a pound a week cut back to 1500 calories and youll do it without excercise.

    But considering you "really need help" you prob. want to lose more then that in a week. So i recommend cutting back to 1300 calories, mostly none from fat, doing 45 minutes of cardio 5 days a week (running, swimming, etc.) and a few sets of core strengthening so ur not saggy when you lose it (situps, pushups)

    As far as energy if you eat properly itll come naturally. If u really want a product try 5 hour energy. Its like 2 calories.

    Exercise will give you energy.  No kidding.  Don't run.  Walk 10 blocks 2x a day.  Touch your toes 50x - but work up to 50 by 10s.  

    I don't know if this will help you or not but when my youngest daughter was about 15 she got pretty chunky and hated it. She came up with this diet and it really worked - since then I have used it a few times and it worked for us.

    When you get up - touch your toes 50x and then eat a boiled egg with butter - we smash them up and salt and pepper OR 1 bowl of oatmeal w/t. of sugar OR 4 slices of bacon --and a slice of buttered toast.

    At 10 in the morning or sometime in the morning - eat an orange or an apple. Drink a large glass of water.

    At 12 lunch - drink a glass of water, eat 2 pieces of fruit, 2 oz of cheese (like 2 slices of sliced cheese and drink 8 oz of milk.

    AT 4 drink 3 glasses of water - big glasses

    Then have dinner - but only take 1/4 of what you really want - so if there are pork chops, mash potatoes, gravy, vegie and salad.. you can eat all of it but just take little tiny amts. Like maybe a Tablespoon of potatoes, a tablespoon of gravy - 1/4 of the pork chop, a few vegies or salad. SMALL amt of salad dressing - very small portions.

    If you have a huge food attack - eat a small piece of fruit or if you are so desperate one of the lunch size bags of chips. But keep saying while you are eating - do I want to be fat??? lol I also pasted a picture of a very large fat woman on my fridge door and made myself LOOK at it everytime I thought of SNACKS! lol

    The first three days will be H-LL - you will be SO hungry but then after that it is better. When you have lost 5-6 pounds let up and eat a little larger portions for several days then go back to the Little Portions. She lost 35 pounds in 2 months and looked very good. I have dropped 10 pounds several times but always over a year or 2 I gain it bk - especially since I have gotten older.

    The key to staying slim is Eat anything you want - but Not Much of it and WALK - like 5 blocks everynight before bed or exercise for 15 minutes - touch toes, swing arms back and forth turning at waist or some such. This diet does really give you a jump ahead though. Just don't stay on too long - and do try to take vitamins and do eat the good stuff meat, potatoes/bread and Vegetables.

    It irritates my husband when we go out and have burgers and I eat Half my burger - half my fries and 1/3 or so of milkshake. (I don't waste our dogs love the leftovers lol) But he is also glad I am not 2 axhandles broad in the beam!! :0

    There are 3,500 UNBURNED calories in 1 pound of fat.

    How long should you exercise? Doctors recommend 30-60 minutes of cardio a day. Running is a good exercise but doing weight lifting will increase the amount of calories you burn. The more muscle you have the more fat your body will burn.

    Try to cut out processed foods and foods with lots of sugar. If you eat junk food and drink soda stop. Those foods are nothing but empty calories and eating them will hinder your weight loss success. Diet soda CAN make you gain weight. Yes it has zero calories but the fake sweeteners they use make you retain water. Eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies, lean meats and whole grains.

    I can't tell you how many calories you burn because you didn't include a weight. I'll put a link to a calorie calculator at the bottom. It calculates the approximate calorie intake you'll need to maintain the weight now or lose weight.

  7. Calories in a pound= 3500

    If you cut 500cals from you diet each day, that's already a pound loss per week! Try and walk/jog/run for 15/30 minutes once or twice a day. If you don't like running where people can see you, like me, run in a shaded place but still near houses just incase anything happens, or a park.

    You could swim, do aerobics etc. You don't have to eat very little, either. Little and often is good, try to eat 3 good meal throughout the day and 2 healthy snacks between them and if you really can't waint for food, eat some carrots and homous, nomnom^^

    I guess you're a teenagerr so I'm gonna suggest you join www.sparkteen.com cause it gives you real good tips, meal plans and exercise plans, plus forums to talk and get motivation from others.

    Energy? Hm...Maybe, coffee? Black or with skimmed milk? Fruit actually wakes you up more than coffee in the morning apparently, so maybe switch for fruit, potatoes are good and filling, too.
