OK cross country starts on the 20th of August and I just started running yesterday on my treadmill like i would run a half hour straight then a lil later run for like 20 minutes. Now for my cross country team you need to run 2.5 miles under twenty minutes at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx. So, i have 7 days left..what do i do in order to b under that time slot. Workouts would be nice and tips anything for running is very greatly appreciated

  1. Set a pace that you can keep for 20 minutes and then everyday till you have to run try to bring your pace up just a little bit.

  2. 7 days.

Alright so, I would suggest about 2-3 of longer mileage days out of this week.  It will make the 2.5 seem very short, and your pace will increase naturally.  1 of these days it would be good to go to a track, or just run off the treadmill, at a shorter distance with a faster pace.  This way you know how you feel running a quicker pace, like you will for 2.5 miles.  You'll be great!  What helped me for 2.5 miles, was not starting out to hard, and increasing your pace throughout the run.  It goes by faster than you think!(: Good luck!
