  1. 2.5 hours = Time.

    Your total is 50 miles.

    x = Speed of Tom, x + 4 = Speed of Tina.

    They both have to ride 2.5 hours each, so whatever the speed you have to multiply by 2.5.

    The equation is 2.5x+2.5(x+4)=50
