  1. If the roundabout has five roads, like in my driving lessons, the instructors are never clear about the third exit, because they don't know. I'm thankful my examiner didn't ask me to take that exit.

  2. Of course the signs on the road override any rules in a book. near us there is a roundabout where you can turn right in the middle lane

  3. No it does not, in the UK when we get to roundabout we should watch traffic coming from the right, other countries you need to watch traffic coming from the left, to cut it short if you will drive abroad do every thing the other way on what you do in the UK and you will be fine.

  4. uk- left hand lane is for turning left and going straight over, right hand lane for turning right

europe - left hand lane is to turn left and right hand lane is to turn right and straight over.

same kind of principal. outside lane does the obvious turning and straight over whilst inside lane is for going round the roundabout to furthest turning.

  5. Roundabout design in the U.S. has not yet been standardized, although several types have been defined in industry publications.

Engineers use a variety of design techniques, mostly geometric, to slow vehicles as they approach or exit a roundabout.

Differing design practices in Europe and in Australia continue to influence U.S. engineers as they refine design approaches for application in urban, suburban, and rural areas.

  6. Don't know about outside of US, but watch your signs when approaching.  They should tell you which lane to be in for straight, turns, etc.  Most roundabouts that I know of have just one lane that goes around &/or another for turning on to the road to your right.  I just love them, since they allow the flow of traffic to be uninterrupted, unless it is heavy.  Hope I helped!!
