Need to track someones movements.?

There is a friend who goes out but dont know where to. I need a way track where he. Is there any cheap devices i could buy to maybe put in his car? or can i use a cell phone?

or any other ideas?

I saw the "breadcrummer" on the internet.  You put a loaf or two of bread - cheap stuff - and it makes little crumbs so you can follow it.  Attach it to the car and you'll see his path.

Buy him a cell phone with a GPS tracking device that is activated and give it to him as a gift, Shadow him , Have someone else shadow him, place a voice activated tape recorder on his person, or just be-friend him and learn the places he goes.
