  1. What about lilac and a mint green.  They are both sort-of pastel and would look good together.  I absolutely love lilac.

  2. when is your wedding?  winter, spring, summer, fall?

Go to your florist & check into what flowers will be available in your area during that time of year.  Use the floral palette of available flowers to guide the color choices for your bridal party.

Lilac is a spring blooming flower & thus this color is associated with a spring wedding.  Since lilac is a blue-based color, you will want to find a blue-based color to complement it.  If you would like to stick with green, I suggest a soft, lighter shade of green with an undertone of gray to it.  This will make the lilac color pop.  Or, you could go with a shade of pink.  Stay away from the yellow family as most people look pretty hideous in yellow tones.

Ask your bride's maids for suggestions.  Be sure that whatever colors you choose, your bridal party will feel comfortable & attractive in their garb.

    (1)  go to your local paint store or hardware store's paint aisle & pick out color chips...you know, those strips of paper with small blocks of color on them.  First find your shade of lilac.  Then check out the greens.  Then the pinks.  Then....  Take all your color chips home so that you'll have them as a visual aid.

    (2)  go to your local craft store's ribbon aisle.  First find your shade of lilac, then green, then....  or whatever colors strike your fancy.  Buy a yard of ribbon of each color you like...take them home...think about it.

P.S.  I'm in complete agreement with a couple of other responders who have recommended sage green...great color to complement lilac!

  3. I read that lilac or any purple is super IN right now for summer colors.  I am doing aqua and probably brown but I really like that choice green would look pretty with lilac. I know I want brown and blue but since I am still not sure about the exact shade I think i am going to go to home depot and get some paint swatches, you can look at the colors next to each other that way and it will help you visualize it more.
