Need your advice for my programming job.

I used to work as engineer for a software company in India. I left the company last month. Since then, I tried the freelance programming sites to earn money. All of the buyers seems to be interested in lowest price. Many people place bid for each project. Many of them have full time job and they bid for extra money. So, they can bid for dart cheap price. In order to win bids I ended up bidding for very low price and the fee I got (after site commission and money transfer fee deducted), is just too low and not enough for a living. I don't want to go back to another software company. Do you think/know any option where I can utilize my programming skills and earn a decent money for living?

Thank you.

  1. You can try other freelance websites like http://eufrelance.com/ (you get paid in Euro) , http://scriptlance.biz/ ,etc .

  2. You can try to get one of the H1B's in the next lottery and come to the US and work for a company here for a few years.

Otherwise, you're going to be stuck going back to EInfochips or Tata or something like that is my guess.  Those freelance gigs that you are talking abotu never work out.  Adn you would have a real hard time doing Long Term independent contract work from India as well, I believe.
