2. Well, if the pleasantly plump girl you speak of really wanted to do this, then there shouldn't be anything stopping her. Maybe you could talk to her, see what she want's and encourage her. Besides, if she's overweight and going to take a dance class, then it may be a very good way for her to lose weight. That could be why she's taking it. Talk to your friend who's picking on her about this. Tell her that she shouldn't be doing that. First of all, it's rude to do so and second, she's obviously not putting herself in the other girl's shoes.

  3. start thinking about ur friend she needs some help and concentrate on ur moves with ur friend and also dance coz thats why ur going there

  4. This may be a good place for you to exude some kindness, and empathetic charity. The girl you describe is aware of how much she weighs, how much larger she is than her peers, she is certain to know that she will not be chosen as the prima donna of the class. But, she has a reason to be there. Perhaps it is because she wants to acquire some postural grace, to exercise in an activity she can enjoy without competitive stress, maybe she has always loved music and dance and wants to transcend her situation and just enjoy the arts she loves. Who knows?

But she is there and she needs to feel included, not to be pointed to or giggled about.

Introduce yourself and volunteer your help. Volunteer to partner with her in those activities that require a partner. Your attempts to reach out to her in sisterhood will prevent the less thoughtful and less kind of your peers to ridicule or taunt her. You, because you are the better person, can save her from that hurt. She will not embarrass herself regardless of how poorly she dances if she has a friend to help her along. You may find this girl to be a wonderful person whose friendship you will come to value.

You really want to reach out to her and to keep her from hurt, don't you? Be the better person. It's an opportunity, not a moral quandary,

I hope that you and your new friend to be have a wonderful time in dance class.

  5. well im not in high school yet i hav 1 more year of middle school in a week but who cares im giving u advice cuz u asked 4 it so here it goes__the rude ppl who r full of themself and think they're "all that" they'll probly make fun of her but they make fun of new ppl anyway, right? yah but plz dont suk into that, its just not right, plus big deal if she's not so skinny u can see her bones or somthin besides since she'a taking dance she'll 4 sure she'll lose wieght..my friend is in dance 2 and she is SKINY! but yah ur friend is being kinda rude, no offence but she is....the girl should still take dance class....there's no real reason she shouldn't...s***w purepressure! or watevr u wanna call that c**p..i dunno.... :)

  6. Frankly your friend was just rude and if she is doing that sort of thing you can bet she is just the type to talk about you behind your back. I have no patience for that sort of behavior.

And for the record, I've been dancing for 30 years (ballroom, latin and swing - see below) and I weigh 250 lbs. Skill and creativity (and a good costume) is what counts - not size.

  7. First of all, your friend needs to excercise humanity for EVERYONE.

Secondly, I know a girl who weighs 195 if not more. She dances and is the BEST on her team. (Doing splits during a performance anyway)

Third of all, why would you or your friend need help with a decision that isn't, nor should be yours? If she wants to dance, why should it matter to you. Have you considered that she may be trying to lose weight by being active?

Hope I clarified some things for you.

    God Bless

  8. I think you already know what the answer to that. You have to do what is right, to be a better person. No one has the right to pick on anyone no matter what. Your friend seems to show a low self esteem, that the only way she would feel good is to put down someone. Wouldn't the world be a better place if we all help each other rather than put down each other.

You have to be the one to live with yourself. Who you are going to protect those who need help or the cruel people. Respect begets respect. Do the right thing so you could respect yourself. Teach those who needs teaching (your cruel friend), and make our world a better place to live on. Be an example of a good person even if everyone is on it.

Are you guys tired of Columbine - I'm talking about what caused it, not that she would do it?
