Question:

Needing Help With Console Decisions...?

Now I don't want this to turn into a big fight over whose better, rather a helpful discussion for me to decide what console to get, a PS3 or a XBOX 360.

Now to the Questions.

1. What has the easiest backwards compatibility? I mean which one wont make me download or buy a whole lot of c**p just to play the old games I already have.

2. Which one is better for the money? I want either a newer PS3 with the MGS4 bundle, or a new Xbox Elite.

3. Which has more/better games? I'm mostly into the RPG and FPS games, with maybe a racing game sprinkled in there.

4. Do I have to buy a HD TV or LCD TV or what not to play either? I'm thinking about buying one in the future, regardless, but i would like to know if I have to buy one for it to even work.

Thank you for all the help.

  1. I have a PS3 and Xbox 360 and I have to admit I use my Xbox A LOT more.  I find it to be a lot more user friendly, have a bigger selection of games, have a better online gaming experience, and it just tends to be more fun to use.  The PS3 has a little bit newer and better graphics, but not so much as where it actually makes a difference, and it also has Blue-Ray which is very nice.  I have noticed that Blue-Ray movies are a lot clearer and have a much better detail level.  But like what you were saying, if you don't have HD yet, I'm not sure it will make that big of a difference.  The cool thing about the Xbox 360 is that you can turn off and on the HD so there is no confusion.  I like the Xbox 360 and the PS3 a lot, but if I were you, I would definitely get the Xbox 360.

    Good Luck and Have Fun!

  2. i would say get the 360 the online play is alot better than ps3

  3. PS3 has easier and better backwards compatibility than xbox.

Looking at point number 3 i suggest you get a PS3. Final Fantasy 13 is coming out exclusively for PS3 soon, and just gennerally PS3 has better RPG's than xbox because Sony is a japanese company, and the japanese love their RPG's.

In terms of FPS games there are a few good ones out on PS3, but the big draw card will be Killzone 2, which is exclusive to PS3 (check out the trailer on youtube).

And if you like the odd racing game you cant look past gran turismo 5, again exclusive to PS3. Also another game you should look out for is god of war 3.

Also xbox has some serious reliabilty issues. check out this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360_te...

  4. 1 :  neither really

the  360 needs  a hard drive  and you need to download patches and upgrade  for most  xbox games to work but they dont all work  the  ps3  can run  ps1 and ps2 games but you need  hardware usb dongle to use  the memory cards the games dont see the hard drive

2 :  thats up to you  to decide the elite however comes with no games most  older  360 games are however pletifull and cheap

3 :  the  360 at the moment by virtue  of  being older

there are not a whoel lot  rpg  games on the  360  maybe  5 if that

(  oblivion blue dragon eternal sonata mass effect  and a few others)  but there are more thenenough fps games on the box if thats your thing

4  :  no they work on any standard  tv with  rca jacks or a scart  socket
