Ive been caring for a unhatched barn swallow bird egg. At this point the egg shell seems to be thinner but it feels heavier. There is movement and akward shadows. I candle lit the egg and saw there was a space below it and the head was clearly at the top. The eyes are visable but im unaware of a beak. Im uneducated in this subject and would appreciate any and all advice. Also how can I tell the age of the egg?

  1. get all the cats away from then

    have a good day

  2. first of all if you can see the bird inside of the egg then it will hatch soon. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_kno...

  3. My best advice is to stop fooling with it.

Keep it the right temperature and humidity.  Make sure to turn it a couple times a day.  And leave it alone.

Birds are pretty fragile, and you're not helping things playing with the egg.  Sorry for the bad news, but a dead chick isn't much fun.

  4. eggs are very sensitive to weather.. try to place it on warm surroundings (around 1 foot away from a light bulb).. about the age, you will need some professional to do that.. have a nice egg.. i mean, day...

  5. If you just TOOK the egg out of a nest then put it back, please.
