I have the flu and so do at least two more members of my family, including an elderly one with lung and heart conditions.

How could I keep us all hydrated but not drinking anything too-acid such as some juices containing too much VITAMIN C? This primarily for the elderly person because one of her health conditions is that too acid food make her blood run thicker.

  1. Propel, the clear gatorade or ginger ale...hope you all get to feel'n better soon!

  2. gatorade and water

  3. good call. hydration is very important  by drinking extra fluids this prevents dehydration caused by fever, loosens mucus and keeps your throat moist. Warm liquids are preferable, and there is some evidence that inhaling steam early in the course of a cold or flu may reduce the spread of viruses in your upper respiratory tract.Try water, decaffeinated tea, watered down fruit juice or broth-based soups. don't forget to also get plenty of REST!

  4. plain water or some warm honey and lemon would be very soothing while ill

  5. Tea with lemon & honey, Gatorade, water.

Also eat Jello, applesauce, chicken soup

    Hope everyone feels better soon.
