Needs examples for the following please!?

do you guys know of any recent examples from british politics, or american if not, i can use for a political communication exam- media based:

the importance of political image

good use of new media like the internet of political parties, leaders of candidates like london mayoral elections, american elections etc.

Do not know anything about the British  media. I was intrigued to know, though, how others felt about a comment made by Chris Matthews about Obama. If I recall correctly, he said something to the effect that when he heard Obama speak, he had chills run up his leg.
