Hey everyone! I am 2 days from my EDD and I highly doubt he's going to come by then. I have started to dilate, 1cm as of last Wednesday. How can I help get things moving? s*x is out of the question since my hubby works nights, and so far, walking hasn't done anything. Any advice? Thanks in advance!

  1. Have s*x with yourself.  LOL.

  2. First of all, don't worry about being dilated "Too Long" whatever that is suppose to mean! I was dilated to 1 on the 12th 50% effaced, on the 19th I was dilated to 1 1/2 60% effaced. Thus far- no contractions, my water hasn't broke nothing. My doctor told me to come back on the 26th and I could go into labor tonight or I may have a few weeks. So there is nothing to worry about but keep walking and get some rest- your gonna wish you had!

  3. Does s*x have to be at night?  The hormone in your husbands s***n can really help soften the cervix!  Other than that keep walking..sorry I couldn't be more help.

  4. if you have already started to dilate then keep moving do house work, walking etc as you have been.  The thing that worries me is that youv'e been dilated a day or so keep an eye on bleeding statis if any, if you are bleeding more than approx this size [........] or any green discharge diffently see your LMC ASAP!!!! if you cant reach her then go STRAIGHT to the hospital.   This could be an infection as you have been dilated for a day or so.  DO NOT leave more than 3 days dilated!! get checked as often as you can.

Sorry I havnt given you much to work with to get things moving, but I really think that you should take me advice as I have delivered my sis in law and she was 3-4 days dilated and she was bleeding, when we got hospital we saw green infectis fluid, any longer and both baby and her were going to be in danger.

  5. I did squats in the shower, hold on to something obviously.  But, it helped me dilate to 3.  Keep walking.  With my first son, I was only 1 cm dilated, and my water broke the night of my due date, I had no symptoms, nothing!  I actually video taped my belly a couple hours before hand, because he was moving like crazy.  Also, just keep walking, you may not think it's helping, but it is.  Walk especially when having BH contractions, hopefully you can make them continue, and get stronger.  GOOD LUCK!

  6. there's a sure fire thing that always works,  time and waiting that baby will come when he is good and ready and not much we can do about it.  sorry to say.( catch hubby first thing in  the morning when he comes home he might like a morning in the sack with his ever expanding wife. )
