  1. I shouldn't think so I'm afraid. By 10 days after your period is due it's highly unlikely that a blood test would not pick up hcg.

Try not to get stressed out, as I'm sure you already know that it can make your periods late. I have a friend who normally has very regular cycles but when she starts trying to conceive they go all over the place. Take it easy and I'm sure it will happen soon x

  2. I am a nurse in the OB/GYN - fertility field.  I have seen a few patients that either had a very low blood hcg level (deemed negative), and went on to have a healthy pregnancy.  I also have seen where patients ovulated really late, and it just didn't show up until later.  My best-friend actually had an hcg done on her day 33 and it was a 2 (usually deemed negative).  It went up from there....she now has a healthy almost 2 yr old daughter.  I don't want to give you a false sense of hope, but your question was can it happen...yes it can.  Everybody is different, and anything is possible.  I would wait for a week, and if you haven't started go back to your OB/GYN and ask him (her) to do another QUANTITATIVE hcg, Estrogen, FSH, LH, and progesterone.  This should give you an idea of what's going on.  I wish you the best!!
