Antonio Conte, the head coach of the Turin giants, has gone on to remark on the elation he feels after making his return and also reflects on the recent negativity.
Antonio Conte finally made his return to the Turin giants during the match against Palermo on the 8th of December, 2012. Antonio Conte found himself on the wrong side of the Italian legal system as he was found guilty of the accusations levied
against him by his former Siena player, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Filippo-Carobbio-c13775. The Italian player was found guilty of sporting fraud and in an effort to shorten his sentence, he gave information to the prosecutors regarding the match-fixing ring that has encompassed the Italian
football.
In his statement, he accused the former head coach of Bari that he had informed the team that the results of the match between Albinoleffe-Siena and Siena-Novara were already decided. The two matches did not alter the progress of Siena but it did aid Novara
in their endeavours of remaining in the Serie B. Even though, the remaining players in the Bianconeri squad gave statements that cleared Conte of any wrongdoing, he was still banned by the Italian sporting justice system.
He was handed over a ban of 10 months and upon further appeal by his lawyers, the ban was cut down to 4 months, with the ban ending on 6th December, 2012. Antonio Conte has remarked on his return to the game and how he has been affected by the
ban. While commenting on the result of the match and the post match celebrations, the former Siena head coach has remarked that it was a pity to have seen all the negativity surrounding the affair, and remarked:
“Unfortunately in these last four months I was taken away [from the pitch], because even after the game I could not enter the dressing room until the next day, when the moment has passed. I have returned and it is still back to a normal media attention.
I say normal, because there was a disproportionate amount of media attention when things were negative, which has not been pointed out.”
The Turin giants were the eventual group winners which included European and Ukrainian Champions.
