I'm in my 2ww and was too impatient. I'm 9dpo.... am due for AF in 5 days on wed 6 aug. I have been feeling weird so did a pg test this morning and it was negative. Could this have been too early to get an accurate result? Have been TTC for 6 months and really wanted a BFP.

Also, the test was by Forelife.....which i haven't heard from!

  1. Like you, I am also impatient!!!  It was too early to test.  Last cycle, I had an early miscarriage, and I got my first faint BFP on 13dpo.  I have used forelife ovulation tests, and they are really accurate.  I would only imagine that the pregnancy tests are also very accurate.  I am pretty sure they are really sensitive (pick up a small amount of hSG pregnancy hormone) so I would test again in a few days.

Goodluck and loads of baby dust to you!

  2. i think it was to early to test. I was 3 days late until i got my BFP.

Good luck and baby dust to you

  3. You should wait another 2 days and re-test as not many people will get a + 5 days before a period is due.

Try and use a First Response Early Result next time.

I know you probably know to wait until your period is late to take a test but it seems so far away and you just want to know but it really is best to wait as long as you can as the longer you wait the more accurate the result will be.

  4. You can do a pregnancy test as early as you want, just don't expect it to be positive even if you are pregnant.

The #1 reason for a false negative HPT is testing too early.

A home pregnancy test is never positive until at the earliest 10-11 days after ovulation/fertilization, that's about 2-3 days before a missed period, but the majority of pregnant women won't test positive until they miss their period.

Testing before a missed period can often give you a "false negative" pregnancy test, a pregnancy test that's negative when in fact you are pregnant.

That's why most doctors recommend to do a pregnancy test only after you miss your period so you won't be confused by a negative test.

Even if you are pregnant, a home pregnancy test (HPT) done 1-2 days before a missed period is positive in only 1 in 2 pregnant women.

And and even on the day of a missed period 1 in 4 women will have a negative pregnancy test.

Testing after a missed period will often give you a better answer to you question: "Am I pregnant?".

  5. I think it was too early. You should really try to save yourself the heartache and struggle to wait a bit longer. I have been there, done that. Getting a negative is pretty difficult on your emotions when you want it to happen this badly. Good luck.

  6. awe, this is exactly why I refuse to buy pregnancy tests until 11 DPO. I used to start testing at 8 or 9 DPO and I hate the let down of the BFN. But fear not, it is still too early. Even the super sensitive HPTs don't advertise accurate results until 4 days before your period is expected to start, (they say five days before your MISSED period).

I know your position now though, you are gonna NEED to test every day until your period comes, its an addiction. Everyone who says "wait three days and test again"... they know good and well that they NEVER do that. Even when I told myself, "dont test, dont test, dont test" I ended up robotically going and POAS. hahaha.  It isn't a TRUE negative until your period starts, so I wouldn't count yourself out of the game yet.

Good Luck! I really hope you get your BFP soon!
