Neidermeyer vs Pronger and the "C"

Question

OK.. 2 years ago Scotty was the captain and he lead the Ducks to the Cup.. won the Conn Smythe and was the stability on and off the ice. Last year when he contemplated retirement Pronger was given the "C" and didn't show great leadership qualities. All my fellow Ducks fan think Scotty should start the season with his "C" back but nothing has been said as of yet. Do you think Caryle would take it back from Prongs?? Pronger (as hated as he is) is a great asset to the team.. just not in the leadership role.

It doesn't matter. Anaheim will be crushed and destroyed by Detroit.  Chris Pronger and Scott Niedermayer are both cowards.

I'm sorry, did anybody say anything about 2007?  Do you have the same team that you did in 2007?  Do we have the same team that we had in 2007?  No.  I thought the upcoming season is 2008-2009?  You can list all the stats you want, but we both know what is going to happen to your little socal b*tch team.  You're going to get f*cking throttled and curb stomped.  Enjoy failure while I enjoy success.

It doesn't really matter, which one of the Two gets the Captaincy. They are both very much so qualified, to have the honor. I mean Niedemeyer wore the C in New Jersey, and Pronger was captain of the St.Louis Blues, for a good 5 plus years, so it doesn't really matter. The Ducks, should be looking at who is going to be given the C, when these 2 elite defensemen's contracts expire. Because Niedemeyer is a UFA in 2009, and Pronger is eligble in 2010. So they should be gering towards the future, my pick is that when these 2 players, are done in Anaheim, that Ryan Getzlaf, will be given the C, and him along with Corey Perry, will lead the offense, of that team, for many yeras to come.

He contemplated retirement for 1/2 the season.  The captain must be committed to the team and last year Scott wasn't.

As to Leadership abilities, in my opinion Pronger is one of the best, as is Neidermayer.  Is that the reason they did not win the cup last year? No there were many not the least being the disruption of the Neidermayer/ Selanne situation and the inability of Burke to spend his assets properly not knowing when or if they would be back.

I doubt he will give it back, it looks like he will only play out the remaining year on his contract.  If you don't want or need Pronger, we will take him.
